AeroPress
AeroPress is a simple tool for manually cooking coffee. Its structure is similar to a syringe. When in use, put ground coffee and hot water into its “syringe”, and then press the push rod. The coffee will flow into the container through the filter paper. It combines the immersion extraction method of French filter press pots, the filter paper filtration of bubble (hand brewed) coffee, and the fast and pressurized extraction principle of Italian coffee.
The Chemex coffee pot was invented by Dr. Peter J. Schlumbohm, born in Germany in 1941 and named Chemex after its American production. The doctor modified the laboratory’s glass funnel and conical flask as prototypes, specifically adding an exhaust channel and a water outlet that Dr. Schlumbohm referred to as the airchannel. With this exhaust duct, not only can the generated heat avoid the filter paper when brewing coffee, making the coffee extraction more complete, but it can also be easily poured out along the slot. There is a detachable anti scald wooden handle in the middle, which is tied and fixed with exquisite leather strings, like a bow on a beautiful girl’s slender waist.
Mocha Coffee Pot
Mocha pot was born in 1933 and uses the pressure of boiling water to extract coffee. The atmospheric pressure of a mocha pot can only reach 1 to 2, which is closer to a drip coffee machine. The mocha pot is divided into two parts: the upper and lower parts, and the water is boiled in the lower part to generate steam pressure; The boiling water rises and passes through the upper half of the filter pot containing coffee powder; When the coffee flows to the upper half, turn down the heat (the mocha pot is rich in oil because it extracts coffee under high pressure).
So it’s also a good coffee pot for making Italian espresso. But when using an aluminum pot, the coffee grease will stay on the pot wall, so when cooking coffee again, this layer of grease becomes a “protective film”. But if not used for a long time, this layer of film will rot and produce a strange smell.
Drip Coffee Maker
Drip coffee pot, abbreviated as American coffee pot, is a classic drip filtration extraction method; Basically, it is a coffee machine that uses electric power to simmer. After turning on the power, the high heating element in the coffee pot quickly heats up a small amount of water flowing from the water storage tank until it boils. The steam pressure sequentially pushes the water into the water delivery pipe, and after passing through the distribution plate, it evenly drips into the filter containing the coffee powder, and then flows into the glass cup; After the coffee flows out, it will automatically cut off the power.
Switch to insulation state; The insulation board at the bottom can keep the coffee at around 75 ℃. American coffee pots have insulation functions, but if the insulation time is too long, coffee is prone to souring. This type of pot is simple and fast to operate, convenient and practical, suitable for offices, suitable for moderate or deep roasted coffee, with slightly fine grinding particles and a slightly bitter taste.
