China’s tea culture has a long history, and drinking tea for fitness is very popular in China. And drinking tea inevitably requires various tea sets. Purple clay pots are the top of tea sets. Do you know that purple clay pots can become more beautiful by raising them? A good pot, once raised, is a peerless masterpiece, but if not properly raised, it is just an ordinary tea set. What are the prerequisites for raising a good purple clay pot?
Prerequisite for maintaining a good purple clay teapot
1. Good raw materials
It can be said that a pot made of good mud, a good pot keeping method, a good pot shape, and a pot made with good craftsmanship=a good pot. A teapot may not necessarily be expensive, but after years of careful care, it can emit unexpected beauty.
Usually, the speed of wrapping slurry in a good clay pot is definitely faster than that of using a regular clay pot. In fact, whether a pot is good or bad is the most important factor. A pot raised with good mud will definitely look more beautiful. On the other hand, if the mud is not good, no matter how much effort is put into it, the pot will still remain the same and not achieve the expected results.
2. Production process
During the production process of a purple clay teapot, the surface needs to be flattened and scraped to remove small particles, and the mud between the particles floats on the surface. The surface of the pot will be smooth and easy to coat. At the same kiln temperature, the degree of sintering in a well-crafted purple clay pot is higher. Sintering in place not only has a regular color, but also has high strength (not easily broken), which fully demonstrates the breathable and impermeable properties of purple sand.
The concepts of how many times a pot is pressed flat and how many times it is pressed ten or twenty are completely different. This is the patience and meticulousness of craftsmen, and the secret to the easier soaking and maintenance of a pot lies in the amount of “bright needle” craftsmanship. A truly good pot must also be a pot with excellent skills in making bright needles. In this era of everyone striving for profit, it is rare for a pot maker to be able to sit firmly on the workbench and make fine and bright needles.
How to Keep a Purple Clay Pot Well
1. After use, the purple clay pot must be cleaned and free from tea stains.
The unique double pore structure of purple clay pots can adsorb the flavor of tea, but tea residue should not be left in the pot for the purpose of keeping the pot. Over time, tea stains will accumulate in the pot, also known as tea mountains, which is not hygienic.
It is best to prepare a pot holder or place a pot pad at the bottom of the pot when using it.
Many pot enthusiasts place the pot directly on the tea sea during daily use. When pouring tea, the tea soup and water will overflow the bottom of the pot. If not washed frequently, the bottom of the pot will be spent over time.
3. Serve one pot of tea, preferably without mixing.
Purple clay pots have adsorption properties, and it is best to brew one type of tea in one pot. If you brew multiple types of tea in one pot, it can easily cross taste. If you want to change the tea leaves, be sure to clean them thoroughly and not exchange them.
4. Do not use detergent to clean purple clay pots.
Clean the kettle with clean water, do not use detergent. If it is to clean tea stains, you can clean it multiple times and add an appropriate amount of edible baking soda for cleaning.
5. The cleaned purple clay pot should be placed in a dry place.
When cleaning a purple clay pot, there may be some water left in the pot. Do not immediately store it. Instead, place the pot in a cool and dry place, drain the water, and store it in a well ventilated place.
6. When using and placing, be careful not to get contaminated with oil.
After meals, you should wash your hands of the pot and be careful not to get any oil stains when placing it. If a purple clay pot is stained with oil, it will be difficult to clean, and if it damages the appearance, the pot will be ruined.
